OLIN 2024 Summer Internship in Philadelphia and Los Angeles from June 3 through August 9, 2024.

As an OLIN intern, you will take a deep dive into real projects, working hand-in-hand with our team of innovative and passionate designers. Immersed in our collaborative studio environment, you will encounter fresh challenges and inspiring possibilities every day. You will hone your skills, broaden your worldview, and make lifelong connections along the way. We can’t wait for you to join us!

Both undergraduate and graduate students advancing to their final year of study in an accredited landscape architecture program are encouraged to apply.

How could an OLIN internship transform your summer—and your future?

REAL PRACTICE.

This isn’t 101. It’s not another studio. This is real—the projects, the clients, the communities, and the consequences. And we’re looking for you to help us make a real difference. As an OLIN summer intern, you’ll join the staff on active projects. You’ll work alongside landscape designers, landscape architects, associates, partners, and OLIN Labs researchers on a wide range of project types and project phases. You’ll have access to 45 years of collected intelligence, research, inspiration, and experience. You won’t just watch how the work gets done. You’ll do the work yourself.

REAL PROJECTS.

How does a project go from aspiration, to concept, to reality? From the earliest sketch to the final details of construction, OLIN designers tackle it all—and you will too. You will participate in all phases of projects. You’ll learn the tools and technologies that empower and inform design. You’ll see how ideas get communicated to clients and communities. You’ll do the research that pushes design thinking to the next level.

REAL IMPACT.

One of the most exciting and unique experiences our interns have is the Intern Project, where you and your fellow interns work as a design team over the first two weeks of the summer. These projects often combine research, design, and advocacy and support local communities in Philadelphia and Los Angeles. It is the first chance for aspiring landscape architects to own a project that has actual clients and can lead to meaningful change in a community. Over the course of the summer, you’ll also have the chance to join OLIN designers on virtual and in-person site visits to OLIN projects that are built or currently under construction.

FUTURE LEADERS.

OLIN’s intern class represents the best of the future of the practice. After ten weeks in our studio, you will re-enter your studies with new skills, as well as experiences, relationships, and perspectives that will chart a course for the future of your career. You’ll know what it takes not just to make it in the profession—you’ll be on a path to make the profession.
