One of the most exciting and unique experiences our interns have is the Intern Project, where they work as a design team. These projects often help communities in need, like schools. It is a first chance for aspiring landscape architects to own a project that has actual clients and can lead to meaningful change in a community.
Our informal “4x4” lunchtime lecture series is one way we communicate how we work, how we think, and how we build world-changing landscapes. We share recipes for success, from new technologies to trending philosophies in analysis, visualization, modeling, infrastructure, rendering, animation, psychology, ecology, and (of course) design.
It is important to us to make time as a team for more serious design conversations. Our monthly DESIGN LAB presentation series is a way for us to stimulate deeper conversations about our specific projects and how they are contextualized in the contemporary milieu.
